The 1982 Grand National may be the first GN, but the 1984 was the first Turbocharged Grand National with fuel injection, and painted all black. Total production for the 1984 Grand National was set at 2,000 units. The engine was a 3.8-liter (engine code 9 (LM9)) rated at 200 horsepower @ 4,000 r.p.m., while torque was at 300 ft. lbs. @ 2,400 r.p.m.
