1987 was the final year for the rear-wheel drive G-body, and Buick wasn't going to go out with a whimper! 1987 marked the largest Turbo Regal output (except1978) with a total 26,555 units (20,193 of which were Grand Nationals (WE2). With minor changes from 1986, the Grand National got a 10 H.P. boost to 245 at 4,400 R.P.M. and torque went up to a whopping 355 ft. lbs. at 2,000 R.P.M.! (at 355 ft. lbs. of torque it could turn the tires over like space saver spares on a Top Fuel dragster! Yikes!)
Because of their stylish good looks and street beating performance, at a reasonable price, the 1987 Turbo Regals are becoming hard to find, and hard to beat at the track. Next time you pull up to a black Regal on the street you had better beware!
