Jan Rolan for Warren County Assessor

Jan Rolan for Assessor

Since taking office as Warren County Assessor in 1991, there is one thing that has remained the same and that is constant change! If ever there has been a need to STAY WITH EXPERIENCE, IT WOULD BE NOW!! With Indiana trying to change the way we assess and each County trying to complete the mandated Reassessment, the Assessor's Office is truly challenging.

This office is unique in that as Assessor I stand in behalf of the Taxpayer to see that they only pay their fair share of taxes - and - I stand in behalf of the Department of Local Government Finance to see that assessments are done according to State regulations. My commitment is to treat Taxpayers like I would want to be treated. It is rewarding to help people understand the details of their assessment and how we arrive at the taxes they are to pay. It is very important to me that our office is professional as well as friendly.

As of January 1, 1999, it became law that the Assessor is the only elected offical that has to be State Certified Level II Assessor/Appraiser. I am pleased for the Taxpayers to know that I have achieved this requirement early in 1998. Because of the complexity of this office, and since Taxpayers gave me the opportunity to serve them, I feel that it is important for them to know that I have taken advantage, and continue to take advantage of, every Conference Training as well as the Continuing Education classes provided by the Department of Local Government Finance.

It is an honor to serve the people of Warren County. If re-elected, I remain committed to that privilege.
