Horsemanship Bible Camps provide opportunities for people to grow in their horsemanship and in their personal and spiritual lives. Ronnie Moyer of Living Springs Ranch Horsemanship and Rodeo Bible Camps (www.livingspringsranch.org) will be leading the devotional time and discussions centered around God's Word. Together we explore many Biblical principles that can guide us in our relationships with horses as well as people. We share our meals together, and each morning and evening we gather for Bible Study, discussion and fellowship. During the day Harry teaches horsemanship sessions in the round pen, in the arena and out on the trails.

Learn to better understand and influence your horse's behavior for a more intimate relationships. Learn the difference between the nature of the horse and the nature of man, and how man's pride can be as much of a stumbling block in our horsemanship as it is in our spiritual walk with the Lord. Learn how to effectively discipline (to train to feel for and follow). Learn to identify when a horse is conforming (mechanically going through the motions) versus when a horse is willingly submitting (voluntarily choosing to surrender his will).
Many people don't understand the difference between conformity and submission. Many people try to relate to their horses, others and God by dealing primarily with the externals. They are trying to apply and follow rules or standards and many times they are just going through the motions. This is conformity. In horsemanship, it may be equipment used to control, exercises to drill and mechanical devices used to overpower the horse. In our spiritual lives, a person may try to conform to manmade rules, standards or practices to try and make themselves acceptable to God or others.
Submission, on the other hand, deals with the heart. The voluntary surrender of one's will to another is the Biblical definition of submission. This foundational and vital truth is lacking in many relationships today. An understanding of this concept can can dramatically change how a person relates to their horses, others and God. Approaching horsemanship with submission as the goal will create in the horse's heart a desire to please, rather than a mechanical response. In our spiritual lives, submission is a cornerstone to our relationship with God and others. Submission helps to create secure, significant, purposeful and lasting relationships.
Recharge, strengthen and grow in your walk with the Lord. Share burdens in a safe and nurturing environment with others in God's family. Ask questions, discuss thoughts and enjoy investigating Biblical Truths which illustrate horsemanship concepts. Be challenged, encouraged and uplifted as we join together to explore the beautiful Truth contained in God's incredible gift to us - His Word.
